No. 400, "Four Peanuts," Reed & Karen Strom |
A doting grandfather asked me to put four children from different places in the states together in poses that would please grandma, who calls her grandchildren “my four peanuts.” Her birthday is today (April 3) and this one’s been under wraps for a few months.
It’s difficult to get the kids all together due to distance so my job was to make that happen, using four photos that were sent to me via text message. The baby, who was difficult to work into the placement, is on a blanket covered with sleepy Zzzzzzzzzs.
Grandpa wanted a modern frame, and I obtained a heavy combination of wood and metal that is the exact shade of the pencil lead.
I got a note today saying the picture is a hit, and that there were some tears. Grandkids’ll do that to grandparents. This, I know.
